Candle Care

How do I get the best burn from my candle?
To ensure an even burn and longer life:

  • Always let your candle burn until the melted wax reaches the edge of the jar (usually 2–3 hours).

  • This helps prevent “tunneling” and maximizes scent throw.

Do I need to trim the wick?
Yes! Before each burn, trim the wick to ¼ inch. This prevents excess flame height, soot, and crackling that's too aggressive.
Wood wicks especially benefit from being trimmed before each use.

Oh no, my candle won't stay lit, what should I do?
If your wick extinguishes quickly, it may be too long or have built-up char. Let the wax cool, trim the wick slightly, and relight.

Can I reuse the jar?
Absolutely. Our vessels are designed to be reusable. Simply remove residual wax by freezing the jar or pouring hot water inside, then wash and reuse for trinkets, pens, or dried florals.

What are Midnight Muse Candles made of?
Our candles are made with:

  • A clean-burning coconut soy wax blend

  • Phthalate-free, premium fragrance oils

  • Crackling cherry wood wicks (Signature & Apothecary lines)

  • Reusable glass vessels and recyclable packaging

Are your candles eco-friendly and vegan?
Yes! Our wax is plant-based, and our fragrances are free of parabens and phthalates. We do not use animal-derived ingredients.

Do you test on animals?
Never.

What size space are your candles best for?

  • Apothecary Candles (7.5 oz): small rooms, desks, bedside tables

  • Signature Candles (8.5 oz): medium to large spaces like living rooms, kitchens, or reading nooks

What candle sizes do you offer?
We currently offer two main candle formats:

✦ Signature Candle

  • Size: 8.5 oz

  • Jar: Modern square glass with cork top

  • Wick: Crackling cherry wood wick

  • Burn Time: ~50–55 hours

  • Best For: Medium to large rooms, gifting, daily rituals

  • Finish: Reusable jar with a soft matte label

✦ Apothecary Candle

    • Size: 7.5 oz

    • Jar: Classic amber apothecary glass with black screw-top lid

    • Wick: Crackling cherry wood wick

    • Burn Time: ~40 hours

    • Best For: Smaller spaces, travel, bedside tables

    • Finish: Minimalist label with reusable jar

The Muse Chain™ & Charms

What’s the Muse Chain™?
Each Midnight Muse candle includes a collectible charm, a wearable token designed to mark the story you're living.
Attach them to your favorite chain or bracelet and collect them all to unlock a narrative of scent and memory.

Can the charm stay on the candle while it burns?
We recommend removing the twine and charm before lighting the candle. The charm is attached with twine, but for safety (and magic preservation), detach it and wear or store it nearby.

Will every candle include a different charm?
Many of our candles feature unique charms, especially limited editions. Some core scents share signature designs. Watch our Instagram or newsletter for charm reveals and collectible events!

Shipping, Returns & General Info

Where do you ship?
We currently ship within the U.S. International shipping may be added in the future. Subscribe to our newsletter for updates.

How long will it take to receive my order?
Candles ship within 3–5 business days unless otherwise noted (e.g., preorder collections). You'll receive tracking once it leaves our hands.

Can I return or exchange my candle?
Due to the small-batch, hand-poured nature of our candles, we don’t accept returns. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please email us and we’ll make it right.

 Do you offer wholesale or bulk orders?

Yes! We love partnering with bookstores, boutiques, and subscription boxes.
